Hi Heather, by "separate" High School, do you mean "self contained"?
In some of the HS programs where I have consulted or visited, they have rolled out the Communication Matrix in a couple of ways.
1) Used a couple of classrooms as Model classrooms. One per speech therapist. And then did a Matrix for each child in that room to inform the teacher and assistants about how they were communicating and to help bring the whole team together on the idea that communication is not just the SLP's responsibility to plan next steps for students
2) In every classroom choose one student to complete a communication matrix upon. This then gives everyone a chance to experience the matrix without getting overwhelmed to think that they have to do the assessment on everyone. They learn the process through one student and then can start to take it on with the rest of their students.
