Interpreting the results may involve decisions about whether to support additional communication functions within the same level - or support the child's advancement on the Matrix within one communication function to include more symbolic forms (i.e., gestural, level IV; concrete symbols, level V; or more abstract symbols (which may include core) level VI or VII.) Supporting progress on the Matrix is always about using aided language input (using 2 or 3 dimensional symbols) as I was trained by Philip Schweigert from the Design-to-Learn projects years ago. Progress may occur with lots of consistency and focus - embedded in natural routines. Happy to talk more - please do not hesitate to reach out!
